Punjabi music industry से निकलकर global stage तक पहुंच चुके Diljit Dosanjh इस समय किसी नए गाने, फिल्म या concert से ज्यादा अपनी citizenship reports को लेकर चर्चा में हैं। सोशल मीडिया पर अचानक ये खबर वायरल होने लगी कि दिलजीत ने साल 2022 में Indian citizenship छोड़ दी और अब allegedly US passport hold करते हैं। इतना ही नहीं, reports में उनकी family और personal life को लेकर भी कई दावे किए गए। लेकिन दिलचस्प बात ये है कि ये चर्चा अचानक हवा में पैदा नहीं हुई। इसकी शुरुआत हुई politics से जुड़े एक public invitation के बाद, जिसने लोगों को सवाल पूछने पर मजबूर कर दिया। और देखते ही देखते एक simple political discussion passport debate में बदल गई।
आखिर पूरा मामला कैसे शुरू हुआ?

All rights belong to the respective owners.Diljit Dosanjh की citizenship को लेकर चर्चा अचानक शुरू नहीं हुई थी। दरअसल, पूरा मामला तब सुर्खियों में आया जब Punjab में एक civil society group ने publicly appeal की कि Diljit को politics में आना चाहिए और Punjab के लिए एक नया political face बनना चाहिए। Reports के मुताबिक, यह appeal Jaago Punjab Manch नाम के group की तरफ से की गई थी, जिसमें retired bureaucrats, former Army personnel और अलग-अलग backgrounds के लोग शामिल थे। इस initiative को reportedly retired bureaucrat SS Boparai lead कर रहे थे। Group का मानना था कि Diljit की clean public image, Punjab से strong connection और global popularity उन्हें एक अलग political face बना सकती है।
इस appeal के बाद social media पर speculation शुरू हो गया कि क्या Diljit entertainment से आगे बढ़कर politics में कदम रख सकते हैं। लेकिन Diljit ने इस पूरे discussion को ज्यादा लंबा नहीं चलने दिया और बहुत clear जवाब दिया—
“Kadey V Nhi… Mera kaam entertainment karna. Am very happy in my field.”
यानी उन्होंने साफ कर दिया कि फिलहाल उनका पूरा focus music, films और live performances पर है, politics पर नहीं। दिलचस्प बात ये रही कि इसी public refusal के बाद उनकी citizenship को लेकर reports और चर्चाएं तेज हो गईं। कई media reports में दावा किया गया कि Diljit allegedly US passport hold करते हैं और इसी वजह से भी politics में entry की अटकलों ने नया मोड़ ले लिया। हालांकि इस दावे पर अभी तक Diljit की तरफ से कोई official confirmation सामने नहीं आया है।
फिर citizenship reports ने क्यों पकड़ी रफ्तार?

fans का reaction भी काफी mixed रहा
